Tonight was such a warm, gorgeous night, we decided to eat dinner outside. Dinner wasn’t anything special, just a bunch of leftovers to clean out the fridge. But it was yummy and the girls enjoyed being outside. And then we remembered the Bunny Cake: a cake made by grandma’s friend, nearly a week ago. Grandma sent it home with us on Sunday, as Chloe had fallen asleep before dessert. The cake was cute, I must admit. However, the comedy that ensued upon eating said 6-day-old cake was absolutely priceless!
Take a look:
Chloe got the best part of the cake, the part with the candy on it. Unfortunately, the Bunny paid dearly.
Chloe dives in to her delicious cake:
Chloe’s rabid consumption of this cake made her daddy so proud, he offered up some “knuckles”, which she was only too happy to oblige:
Which, of course, just encouraged her to eat more. Now, for those of you who have witnessed Gary eat, you should not be surprised to see that his daughter eats just as he does. If you have never seen Gary eat, I will give you this example: he nearly choked to death eating a porterhouse steak at his baby shower. I’m not kidding. His client had to deliver the Heimlich Maneuver. Thank goodness he survived to see the birth of his daughter, who will likely also need the Heimlich some day.
Caution: graphic footage not suitable for all viewers. Viewer discretion is advised:
This photo is a little blurry because Chloe was inhaling her food so quickly, my shutter couldn’t keep up with her.
I don’t know how she didn’t choke…she shoved almost the entire Bunny head into her mouth at once!
Some more devouring eating ensued, and Chloe became distraught that there was no more candy left. She normally doesn’t like sweets, but she sure enjoyed those candied malt balls that adorned the bunny cake. Anyhow, here is how dessert ended:
It’s not easy being 2 years old and strung out on sugar; lots of tears and drool and snot involved.
Alas, daddy took Chloe inside to watch some Wonder Pets, and the rest of the evening went smoothly. Chloe is currently sound asleep…sweet dreams!
